Readers' Choice Award
In 2008, Arc introduced a totally new facet to its perennial Poem of the Year contest: the Readers' Choice Award. This gives Arc readers and website visitors the opportunity to read through Poem of the Year shortlisted poems, and vote for your favourite. The author of the winning poem will be awarded a sum of $250.
Readers' Choice Award 2010
The Readers' Choice Award reading session ran from Monday, March 22 to Monday, April 5, 2010!
The Readers’ Choice Award does not affect the process of selecting 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Poem of the Year 2010 winners, which—along with all Honourable Mentions and Editors’ picks—will be announced in the Summer 2010 issue to be released in June 2010.
Note that this is a blind competition and that poets will remain anonymous to all judges until the contest results are decided.
Please note that 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices MUST be included in your ballot. Email ballots containing only one poem choice will be considered spoiled.
Anyone can vote:
- view online or download the >Readers' Choice Short List Poems (in pdf), read through and choose your top three picks [voting is now over]
- email the titles of your top three choices to vote@arcpoetry.ca
- only one email ballot will be accepted from each email address
- DEADLINE FOR VOTES: midnight Monday, April 5, 2010 [voting is now over]
- Readers’ Choice Award winners will be announced in the summer issue, Arc 64 to be released in early June 2010. To subscribe to the print magazine click here.
