Advertising Rates
(for 2009)
Hello Arc Advertisers:
The deadline for booking ad space in Arc's first inaugural Annual Special Issue is approaching.
The Arc team is happy to announce that this year it will publish the first Arc Poetry Annual, featuring the Best of our webzine How Poems Work from 2003-2008. Smart, insightful essays deconstruct poems by Gwendolyn MacEwen, Jan Zwicky, P.K. Page, Margaret Avison, Alden Nowlan, Robert Bringhurst, Richard Outram and others. This special issue will also include never-before-published pieces on their favourite poems by George Elliott Clarke, Tim Bowling, Stephanie Bolster, Roo Borson and Rhea Tregebov. Arc editor Anita Lahey will interview readers from all walks of life about the poems in the issue; each poem will thus be treated to a broad and lively discussion. This special issue is not to be missed!
A special discount will apply if you wish to book ad space for the How Poems Work Annual. Buy an ad at our regular rate (info below) and get the same ad in our Winter 1009/10 issue at half price - or we are open to ad swaps with similar magazines.
Deadline for booking is May 16th, 2009. If you have any questions, please contact managing editor Pauline Conley (email: managingeditor [at] arcpoetry [dot] ca).

The Magazine
Arc Poetry Magazine is published three times a year in a striking, sophisticated, cleanly designed 8-in. x 7-in. format. Issues range from 120 to 150 pages and are printed on partly recycled paper, with a four-colour outside, one-colour inside cover, an inner art portfolio (in full colour where appropriate) and the capability for reproduction of full colour advertising.
One of the most widely read literary magazines in the country, Arc has a following composed of poets, academics and poetry readers, and is distributed to newsstands and bookstores across Canada, with a strong presence in Chapters, in a selection of university bookshops, and in successful bookstores and magazine stands such as Book City and Pages in Toronto, Mags & Fags and Britton's in Ottawa, McNally Robinson in Calgary and Winnipeg, The Daily Grind Newsstand in Halifax and Munro's in Victoria. Libraries form 10 percent of the subscription base, with libraries from across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Arc continues to honour excellence in poetry and criticism through its sponsorship of the Lampman-Scott Award for Poetry (for a book published by an Ottawa writer in the past year), as well as through the Confederation Poets Prize and the Critic's Desk Award.
Arc will also exchange ad space with other literary magazines upon request.
