Artists: Please see Submission Guide for Artwork
Notice: Unsolicited poetry submissions will only be accepted from September thru May. Submissions postmarked or submitted after May 31 or before Aug 31 of any year will be returned unread.
Poems, Reviews, Essays:
- Arc accepts unsolicited submissions of previously unpublished poems, on any subject, in any form, from September thru May.
- Poetry manuscript submissions must not exceed a maximum of 8 pages and must not include more than 8 poems. Any submissions exceeding these limits will not be read or returned.
- Only one manuscript from any poet will be accepted during each calendar year.
- Submissions of poetry must be sent by normal post. Arc does not accept poetry submissions or poetry queries sent by e-mail.
- Arc publishes reviews, interviews, and articles on poetry and poetry-related subjects. Please query first as Arc seldom considers unsolicited manuscripts. If you have an idea for an article, please submit a brief description and an estimate of its anticipated word-length. Samples of previously published work should accompany your query.
- Arc does not publish short stories or drama.
- Arc publishes a limited amount of artwork in black and white and colour by a single artist or photographer in each issue, including on the front and back covers, and on up to eight inside plates. See Submission Guide for Artwork.
- Manuscripts must be typed and single spaced (in the "wysiwyg" sense that any double spaces will be interpreted as blank lines). Include your name and address on each page.
- Please print and fill out the Arc Poetry Magazine General Submission Form (in .PDF, Word .DOC or .RTF) with your contact details and listing the titles of the poems you are submitting, and please include a short biographical note in your cover letter or typed on a page that is separate from the manuscript.
- Queries for reviews or essays may be sent by e-mail to the reviews editor at reviews@arcpoetry.ca or sent by mail to the address below.
- Arc will respond to unsolicited submissions of poetry, artwork, and article queries within four to six months. Given the voluntary nature of the board, Arc can't promise to respond to inquiries as to the status of submissions before this time frame has lapsed.

- if you live in the United States or abroad, either a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with Canadian postage (not US postage) or a self-addressed envelope with international reply coupon (IRC) with Canadian postage from your post office
