Heather Cullen

Early Thaw

            The bees
     tricked by sun
        say yes too soon

               yes

they pay dearly for it
      peppered over snow.

In 2001, Heather Cullen moved to Ottawa from the Manitoba prairies to complete an M.A. in French Studies. She writes in both languages about her twin passions, botany and literature. Her poetry and stories have been published in literary journals such as the Antigonish Review and Prairie Fire.
